eSky Group: A Rising Star in Online Travel

eSky Group, a seasoned online travel agency (OTA), achieved remarkable success by selling nearly 150,000 airline tickets in the first five months of 2019, securing its position as the second-largest service provider in Romania. The global total transaction value (TTV) experienced a significant growth rate of 41% in 2018, with the Romanian market witnessing an impressive 44% increase. Additionally, eSky reported a 44% rise in flight bookings through its platform, with ticket sales exceeding 225,000 in Romania alone. As one of eSky’s four key markets, Romania serves as a strategic hub for the company, which is consistently enhancing its market presence.

Strategic Growth in Romania

Romania represents a crucial market for eSky, characterized by substantial growth potential. The company has a deep understanding of Romanian customers’ needs and consistently meets them. eSky leads the market in active mobile app users and has been recognized as the most profitable travel company in Romania. This recognition has been further bolstered by the „Unlimited Travel Opportunities” campaign, which is broadcasted on popular TV channels such as Antena 1, Digi TV, and Kanal D, as well as on YouTube and various websites.

Despite some recent studies questioning eSky’s current market position, the website operates as a well-oiled machine, evolving at a dynamic pace towards a leading market position, according to Łukasz Neska, Vice President of the Board and Chief Marketing Officer at eSky Group.

2019: A Year of Milestones

The year 2019 marked a significant achievement for eSky Group, generating over 1.67 billion RON in global sales revenue, with net earnings reaching 200 million RON. The increasing number of users on the website reflects this growth trend, with user numbers soaring to 180 million in 2018. The eSky mobile app has been downloaded approximately 3.6 million times. Furthermore, the group has successfully launched new product lines and expanded into ten new markets, now covering every country in the LATAM region-from Argentina to Mexico, including Central America and the Spanish-speaking community in the United States. Since 2018, eSky has steadily broadened its presence in Europe, offering limitless travel opportunities to residents in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, as well as Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

Expanding Offerings and Innovations

2019 is another year of advancement for eSky as the company focuses on dynamically expanding its offerings. Users can now choose from 950 carriers and over 1.3 million hotels and apartments. Additionally, eSky is continuously enhancing its strategic product, „Flight + Hotel,” which provides dynamically packaged deals that combine the best flights to a specific destination with accommodations tailored to user preferences.

This year, eSky also introduced an innovative solution based on Virtual Interlining technology called MultiLine, which aims to enhance user experience and provide limitless travel possibilities, as stated by Marius Turbatu, Country Manager for eSky Romania and Director of Expansion at eSky Group.

Revolutionizing Travel with MultiLine

MultiLine, offered by eSky, is a cutting-edge Virtual Interlining technology that breaks down previous connection barriers and fully leverages the potential of various airlines. Traditionally, travelers receive flight offers from a single carrier or connecting flights from other airlines. With MultiLine, users can compile any connection from different airlines, regardless of whether they cooperate. This innovation allows passengers to explore new destinations and find more affordable connecting flights, as well as adjust their travel times to visit multiple locations.

Thanks to the extensive list of carriers available, passengers can not only choose their desired destinations and plan multiple transfers but also select convenient flight times, which can be crucial for larger groups or families with children. This convenience is further enhanced by the ability to complete all these steps in a single booking process, providing immense comfort and a significant advantage, as Marius Turbatu adds.
