MedLife Consolidates Its Position in Romania’s Healthcare Sector with Acquisition of Lotus Hospital
Strategic Acquisition Enhances Service Offerings
MedLife, the foremost provider of private healthcare services in Romania, has successfully acquired 100% of the shares of Lotus Hospital SRL located in Ploiești. This facility stands as a key player in the private healthcare landscape of Prahova County, offering a comprehensive range of services including outpatient care, imaging, laboratory testing, hospitalization, and maternity services.
Comprehensive Facilities and Services
Lotus Hospital features 22 beds distributed across 12 rooms, alongside 2 intensive care units and an operating theater equipped with two surgical rooms. The outpatient department boasts 9 consultation offices covering 21 medical specialties, complemented by a fully equipped radiology and medical imaging department utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Additionally, the hospital houses a laboratory capable of conducting over 500 complex medical tests.
In 2018, Lotus Hospital catered to approximately 100,000 patients. The facility employs over 135 medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, and reported a revenue of €3.9 million for the same year.

Transaction Details
The acquisition was facilitated by Deloitte Romania, with Ioana Filipescu serving as the Corporate Finance Partner.
With the addition of Lotus Hospital, MedLife’s portfolio now includes 25 acquired companies, the most recent being the OncoTeam laboratory in Bucharest.
