Jetrun Concludes Successful Installation of Advanced Dehumidification System for Nuintek Capacitor Factory
Jetrun has successfully completed the delivery and commissioning of a high-performance dehumidification system for the Nuintek capacitor manufacturing facility located in Ploiești.
The Critical Role of Humidity Control in Electronics Manufacturing
In the electronics sector, maintaining optimal humidity levels is crucial. Even minimal moisture can significantly contribute to micro-corrosion of metal components within electronic devices. When producing the metalized film essential for electronic capacitors, precise control over humidity, temperature, and exposure time is vital for ensuring the quality of the final product.
Importance of Low Humidity and Stable Temperature
Achieving low humidity and consistent temperature is essential for enhancing production quality and minimizing the rejection rate of finished products. Consequently, the client’s specifications were particularly stringent regarding the maximum allowable relative humidity. Achieving a maximum of 30% humidity is unattainable with traditional dehumidification technologies that utilize direct expansion circuits. To address this challenge, Jetrun’s experts opted for advanced desiccant rotor technology, as explained by Adrian Moisa, General Manager of Jetrun.
Innovative Dehumidification Technology
The selected dehumidifier, the Fisair DFRA-0100E, operates on the principle of moisture absorption through a desiccant rotor, which continuously regenerates its desiccant capacity using hot air from an electric heating battery. This rotor functions similarly to those found in rotary heat exchangers, enhanced with a hygroscopic layer on its metallic honeycomb structure. As the honeycomb absorbs moisture from the treated air and becomes saturated, it rotates into a regeneration zone where it is dried by a stream of hot air. The dried section of the rotor then returns to the treated air, continuing the moisture absorption process.
Rapid Humidity Control
With an airflow capacity of 300 m³/h, the system can swiftly correct any accidental spikes in humidity within the space. To regulate the temperature of the treated air, the Fisair unit is connected to a 4 kW mini chiller equipped with a buffer tank, pump, and a three-way valve controlled by the dehumidifier’s automation system.
Adaptive Air Management
The Fisair unit recirculates indoor air and adjusts its dehumidification capacity based on signals from a digital hygrometer. For regeneration, it utilizes outside air heated to temperatures exceeding 100°C, tailored to the dehumidification requirements.
Complementary Climate Control Solutions
The system is further enhanced by Mitsubishi split air conditioning units with reversible operation and a FranceAir overpressure fan featuring a differential pressure controller. The role of the overpressure fan, akin to technologies used in clean rooms and operating theaters, is to minimize the ingress of outside air during door openings or through any leaks in the room.
By implementing this sophisticated dehumidification system, Jetrun has significantly contributed to the operational efficiency and product quality at Nuintek, ensuring that the factory meets the demanding standards of the electronics industry.
