Decline in Global Water Quality: A Threat to Agriculture
The Impact of Pollution on Agricultural Production
The quality of water worldwide is deteriorating, primarily due to the excessive use of fertilizers. This decline poses a significant threat to agricultural output. A recent study by the World Bank revealed that in heavily polluted areas, economic growth can plummet by as much as one-third. Alarmingly, humanity loses enough food each year to feed approximately 170 million people, underscoring the urgency of addressing this issue.
The Role of Fertilizers in Water Contamination
Intensive fertilizer use, particularly nitrogen and glyphosate, leads to harmful compounds infiltrating soil and waterways. These substances are detrimental to all forms of life. Additionally, the increasing frequency of droughts over the past decade has heightened water and soil salinity, resulting in a global decline in agricultural production.
Innovative Solutions: Advanced Water Filtration Systems
To combat these challenges, advanced water filtration and treatment systems have emerged as viable solutions for supporting agricultural productivity and, by extension, economic stability.
A collaborative team of experts from Japan, Germany, and the United States has spent 23 years developing a cutting-edge filtration system that not only purifies water to the highest standards but also revitalizes it at a molecular level.
The Science Behind Water Revitalization
„Water plays a crucial role in the health of all living organisms and is essential for the growth and development of plants, animals, and humans alike. By utilizing high-quality water, we create optimal conditions for the growth and preservation of fruits, vegetables, and grains, significantly reducing the presence of free radicals, which are known to cause cellular damage,” explains Vatche Keuftedjian, founder of the Pursanova system.
The system circulates ordinary water through a stainless steel column filled with a specially designed blend of minerals and ceramic components that enrich the water with hydrogen. When free radicals interact with the hydrogen ions produced through our patented conversion technology, they transform into harmless non-free radicals.
Remarkable Agricultural Outcomes
The long-term results of using this filtered water in agriculture are impressive. Glyphosate, a potential carcinogen, is eliminated from drinking water, and plant water retention increases-evaporation rates are 35% lower compared to tap water. This helps maintain the freshness of produce and enhances both the quality and quantity of harvests, particularly for crops like eggplants, strawberries, soybeans, and beans.
Additionally, faster germination rates, increased soil bioactivity, and prolonged flowering stages have been observed. Plants absorb more water and nutrients, while the amount of fertilizer required is reduced by 50%. Herbicide usage is also decreased by 20-60%, and water consumption drops by 25%. Notably, the products used for foliar applications are absorbed more quickly due to enhanced capillary circulation within the plants.
Global Reach and Availability
This innovative water conversion system is currently operational in 45 countries, with over 25,000 users, including 4,800 farmers. It promotes sustainable agriculture while optimizing costs through complete process automation. As of this year, it is also available in Romania.
Beyond Agriculture: Diverse Applications
The benefits of this water treatment system extend beyond agriculture; it is also utilized in commercial sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and cafes, as well as in industrial production and household applications.
By addressing the pressing issue of water quality, we can significantly enhance agricultural productivity and contribute to a more sustainable future.
