BRD FIRST Tech Challenge Romania: Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators

The BRD FIRST Tech Challenge Romania program exemplifies how, with the right support, guidance, and encouragement, high school students are eager to excel in future-oriented fields. This initiative, spearheaded by the „Nație Prin Educație” Association, is entering its fourth season, with 190 teams from 93 cities proudly celebrating their qualification for the largest robotics and STEM education program in Romania.

Empowering Young Minds with Resources

This season, the association is providing grants totaling €5,000 to 30 newly formed teams. These grants include robotics kits, tool sets, and a 3D printer. Over 3,000 high school students enrolled in the program will embark on a journey that highlights the significance of STEM disciplines, organizational skills, soft skills, and teamwork. Participants will engage in demonstration matches, four regional competitions, and the highly anticipated national competition in Bucharest. Ultimately, the top seven teams will represent Romania at the World Championship in Detroit, USA.

Transformative Experiences for Students

Dana Războiu expressed her hopes for the program, stating, „It would be fantastic to have a robotics team in every high school, as there are talented kids eager to participate. Many students share that BRD FIRST Tech Challenge Romania and Nație Prin Educație have transformed their lives, and they can’t imagine their teenage years without this robotics program. They learn not just how to build robots but also connect with peers who share their passion. I hope this season will be even better, as we, the organizers, have gained more experience. We also expect students to present even more advanced robots.”
