Twelve years have passed since the sudden vanishing of lawyer Elodia Ghinescu, yet the case remains unresolved. Recently, fresh claims have surfaced, with a man from Buzău asserting he knows the potential location of her remains.
These statements came to light a few days ago when Mircea Mincu, a folk music performer from Buzău, revealed that a friend of his had been involved in a shocking incident. An 80-year-old man from Sărulești, Buzău, reported having a dream in which he encountered Elodia, the lawyer who disappeared over a decade ago. He claims that she communicated with him, asking for assistance in recovering her body.
According to the man’s account, Elodia provided him with directions to where Cristian Cioacă, her husband, might have concealed her remains.
„I know you are a faithful man… Go to Cioacă’s parents and search there. My body is buried within the walls of the house. Please retrieve me and ensure that I receive the necessary religious rites so I can find peace,” she allegedly told the elderly man in his dream.

Chief investigator Vasile Viorel has elaborated on why Cristian Cioacă remains the primary suspect in this case.
„The bedroom where the couple lived has multiple layers of paint. In the area where blood was found, there are five layers of paint, indicating that after the incident, he applied a layer of putty and then paint. Beneath the flooring, we discovered a significant amount of blood, leading us to conclude that a murder occurred there,” he stated.
Viorel suspects that Elodia may have been dismembered in the bathroom, and he believes the murder weapon could be Cioacă’s pistol.
„It is clear that the death was caused by an object that inflicted a wound severe enough for the body to bleed. While we cannot definitively identify the object, we suspect it was the pistol’s grip. It wasn’t used as a firearm but rather as a blunt instrument. We do not believe this was a premeditated act; rather, it appears to have been a spontaneous incident,” he added.
