BUCUREȘTI (MEDIAFAX) – The management of Transelectrica has initiated legal proceedings against Marius-Dănuț Carașol, the former chairman of the company’s board, following his dismissal due to concerns regarding the validity of his academic credentials.
Board’s Response to Leadership Changes
The Supervisory Board evaluated potential challenges that could arise from Carașol’s removal. They emphasized that the collective leadership structure has maintained operational continuity and stability within the company. The newly appointed board members have ensured that decisions are made swiftly and efficiently. Legal procedures have already commenced to terminate Carașol’s employment contract with the Bucharest Transport Branch. Additionally, the branch’s decision-making stability has been preserved through the appointment of an interim director, as stated in a press release from Transelectrica sent to MEDIAFAX.
Legal and Civil Actions Initiated
Transelectrica SA’s leadership has opted to pursue both civil and criminal avenues concerning Marius-Dănuț Carașol, according to the cited source.
„Steps are being taken to establish the company as a civil party in the investigation led by the General Prosecutor’s Office. Furthermore, the management has decided to file a criminal complaint against Mr. Carașol and to take all necessary actions to implement precautionary measures in the criminal proceedings,” the press release further elaborated.
Background on Marius Dănuț Carașol’s Tenure
Marius Dănuț Carașol was removed from his position as chairman of the board and as a board member by the Supervisory Board of Transelectrica.
The board had requested Carașol to provide documentation verifying his academic qualifications after media reports raised questions about their authenticity.
He had been appointed to his role in December 2018.
