With just three months remaining until the winter transfer window opens, teams in the lower leagues are gearing up to sign free agents. Despite less-than-ideal salary conditions, an impressive 50 players who previously played abroad have opted to join Romania’s Liga 2.

As reported by the Romanian Football Federation, over 300 transfers have been recorded by clubs in the second tier by early November. Notably, Liga 2 continues to attract international talent, even amidst discussions of low wages and delayed payments at various clubs.
Top Clubs Bringing in Foreign Talent
According to data from the FRF, 50 out of the 300 players registered in Liga 2 have come from overseas. Farul Constanța and Dacia Unirea Brăila lead the way, each acquiring eight foreign players. Sportul Snagov has made headlines with significant returns, including Cristian Dănălache, a former top scorer in Asia, and Alexandru Ioniță, previously of Rapid.
