Laurențiu Diniță, aged 44, has reportedly been relieved of his duties as head coach of Concordia Chiajna. This decision follows a disappointing home match against Metaloglobus, which ended in a 1-1 draw, as reported by various media outlets.
Team’s Struggles Prompt Leadership Change
According to telekomsport.ro, Diniță himself informed the players about the management’s decision during a meeting in the locker room. After being relegated to Liga 2 at the end of the previous season, Concordia Chiajna has had a rocky start to the current campaign, which appears to be the primary reason for the termination of Diniță’s contract. Currently, the team sits in 11th place out of 20, accumulating only 13 points after 11 matches. In their last five league encounters, Concordia has managed to secure just one victory.
Diniță’s Coaching Background
Diniță took over the coaching role in June, marking his second stint with the Chiajna club. His first tenure lasted nine months in 2011. His coaching resume also includes positions at ACS Berceni, AFC Fortuna Poiana Câmpina, Concordia Chiajna 2, Dinamo 2, CS Balotești, and Sportul Snagov.
