Stability in the Private Pension Sector: No Exit Notifications Received
As of now, the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) has not received any notifications regarding the intention of any of the seven active pension fund administrators to exit the private pension system. This statement was made by ASF President, Leonardo Badea, during an interview on Profit TV.
Current Market Sentiment and Future Considerations
Badea emphasized, „At this moment, there are no formal or informal requests recorded at ASF concerning any administrator’s intention to leave the private pension system. It is crucial that we approach this situation with balance and patience. I advocate for dialogue and the importance of listening to one another, allowing us to conduct thorough analyses and identify common pathways to address potential challenges in the non-banking financial markets. It is essential that we handle these matters with wisdom and professionalism.”
Industry Reactions to regulatory changes
In previous communications, representatives from Allianz-Țiriac Pensii, Generali Pensii, and Aegon Pensii indicated to Profit.ro that they are evaluating all scenarios related to a possible market exit due to the implications of OUG 114/2018. They clarified that no decisions have been made yet, including those regarding the mandated capital increase.
